About Me

With my latest addition...

Hello!  I am Nancy, a twenty-something thirty-something mama of two happy and healthy children under the age of two. I left my teaching career to stay home and take care of our little ones and our home. Leaving my job meant leaving behind my salary as well, which was no easy task for a big spender like myself! It is no secret that I felt extremely limited by our reduced income, and longed for the days of swiping my credit card without a second thought.

I said goodbye to my iPhone, and hello to my modest pay-as-you-go phone. I said goodbye mani-pedi Fridays, and hello DIY nail care. I said goodbye to spontaneous shopping trips, and hello lists and coupons. And somewhere in there, I realized, this life isn't so bad. It started to become - dare I say - fun to save money.

Saving money is not all that hard. If I can do it, anyone can. Whether it be making something instead of buying it, planning ahead for efficient shopping, or finding cheap (or free!) family outings, I make it my mission to find a way to save!

Stop by often to read my musings and maybe find some ideas to help your family save some money too!
